The dryer will run and the timer advances, but it doesn't heat. I used to be able to put the heat setting inbetween medium and high in just the right spot and it would work. But not any more. I have read to replace the ignitor or the thermal fuse or the coils. I'm on a budget and need to know where to begin.
ANSWER Hi. Mounted on the blower housing is thermal fuse part # 3392519. Use a volt/ohm meter part # TJMA-DM1 to assist you in your diagnostics. Ohm the fuse to see if it is closed (O-ohms)normal. If it is open (infinity) then replace it. If you are comfortable then remove the 2 wires from the thermal fuse and place them together protected with black tape (momentarily) to see if it heats now. Clean the entire vent system including the hood cap outside. The temperature switch on the panel has to fully engage (or placed) so the voltage is supplied to the heat circuit. If the igniter part# 279311 has a crack in the middle then replace it. It has to ohm out to 50-500 ohms cold. Thank You.
