Dryer shuts off when on time dry, but does not shut off when on automatic.
ANSWER Reed, The first check needs to be at the exhaust vent and vent hood. Then check the air outlet duct for a build up of lint. On the automatic cycle, the dryer has to heat properly to advance the timer. if there is a restriction in the air flow, the hi limit switch opens and bypasses the timer contacts and the timer won't advance.
