I think I'm in need of a thermostat, but before I order want to run the situation by you guys. The Maytag Performa Model #PYE2300AYW was running. It has been VERY loud for the last 6 months or so, but still worked. During a drying cycle the heat stopped. It kept running, but just cold. When my wife stopped it and tried to start again, it no longer runs at all. Nothing. We put a new timer switch in it a couple years ago. There was quite a build up of lint in front of the blower. Could it have over heated and blown the thermostat fuse?
ANSWER Hello Jeff. Yes, based on the information you provided, it sounds like the thermostats LA-1053 will need to be replaced on the unit.
