The Model Number for the Dryer is from the original user's guide (user guide part no. 53-3259). Someone put a heavy item in the dryer that punched through the plastic grid on the Lint Filter Housing and through the Lint Filter. I need to replace the Lint Filter and Lint Filter Housing on my Maytag dryer. I have not pulled the Lint Filter Housing (Duct Kit, Collector?) out yet so cannot confirm that AP4009389 is the correct part. Question 1: From the information I've given, is this the correct part (for the Maytag PYE/G2000) that the filter slides in to? Question 2: The diagram for this part shows an Instruction Sheet. Is the Instruction Sheet included? Question 3: The instruction sheet mentions removing the Front Panel Assembly - do you have instructions for removing the Front Panel Assembly? Question 4: Are there other parts that need to be replaced (gaskets?) when replacing the Duct Kit, Collector?
ANSWER Hello Tom! For model PYE/G2000 the lint filter is part number 53-0918. Yes, the part that the filter slides down into is the duct part number 12001324. The duct kit does include the instructions. No other parts are needed, the seal is included with the duct kit. You should be able to use the existing the screws on your appliance now with the new parts. Please check your inbox for an email with the service manual available for this model. It will have instructions on how to remove the front panel. Hope this information helps, thanks!
