We have a whirlpool electric dryer, model #LEQ9857LG0 that quit working. If I turn the timer on I can hear the timer running but when I push the start button nothing happens. If I open the dryer door I can hear the door switch activate and the light comes on and I then hear the start button activate as if it would be stopping the dryer. I did replace that start button anyway hoping I would get lucky and that was the problem.....nope.
So now I need to know if the problem is at the timer or at the electronic control panel part Number 8558178
ANSWER Hello Warren,
You would want to check your thermal fuse to make sure that is has continuity through it. If no continuity then you will need to replace thermal fuse 3392519. This is located by the blower assembly behind the rear cover of dryer.
