My dryer will only run with the start button depressed. I tested all the switches per the factory troubleshooting guide and discovered that the high wattage resistor (R59 I think but hard to read) puts out so much heat that it burned the electronic control board to that point that the traces are breaking off the board. I will be ordering a new board but may be remotely locating this resistor away from the expensive controller. Thanks again Whirlpool.

This is usually an indication that the centrifugal switch in the motor 279827 has failed.
