After taking the broiler element out it doesn't appear to look bad. Is there a way to check it to see if it is bad, like a continuity check or something? Just don't want to buy a new one if I don't need it. Thanks for the help. Happy Thanksgiving!

Rachel for Model Number RF385PXEW0

ANSWER Hi Rachel. Yes, you can use a ohmmeter and check to see if it has 18-28ohms. Also check it for shorts to the case From one lead to another (grounds). It can be open ( 0- ohms ). If this is the issue, then the element is part # W10583047. You should have 120 vac on one lead constantly , and awaiting the other 120 vac from the clock control. So if you check the element for voltage of 240 vac, do it with one lead off the terminal (carefully) . This way you do not "read " voltage through the element. Thank You.
