Note: This question is for the older version of this part, but we thought you might still find it helpful

After taking the broiler element out it doesn't appear to look bad. Is there a way to check it to see if it is bad, like a continuity check or something? Just don't want to buy a new one if I don't need it. Thanks for the help. Happy Thanksgiving!

Rachel for Model Number RF385PXEW0

ANSWER Hi Rachel. Yes, you can use a ohmmeter and check to see if it has 18-28ohms. Also check it for shorts to the case From one lead to another (grounds). It can be open ( 0- ohms ). If this is the issue, then the element is part # 9757340. You should have 120 vac on one lead constantly , and awaiting the other 120 vac from the clock control. So if you check the element for voltage of 240 vac, do it with one lead off the terminal (carefully) . This way you do not "read " voltage through the element. Thank You.
