My right front burner will sometimes come on but it won't stay on when I put a pan on it then it goes out is this the burner itself or the switch? What part number do I need? and can I do fix this my self.
ANSWER Lynn, The most likely issue is the burner switch. The burner either works or doesn't work. The repair is an easy repair, and should be something you could do yourself. Turn power off to the range and remove the burner knob. Remove the screws from the bottom corners of the control panel. Remove the screws across the top back of the control panel, grasp and pull out on the bottom of the control panel, lift up and remove the control panel from the back panel frame. Label and disconnect the wires from the switch, remove the two screws that secure the switch to the control panel(on the front) and remove the switch. Reverse the procedure and test the burner for operation and cycling.
