Fan in freezer does not turn. How can I test to see if the fan motor has failed, or the power to the fan motor? Can I plug the fan into 120V and see it if spins (once removed from freezer)? Should I remove the leads to the fan and check the voltage? I will buy a fan motor, but there must be a quick test to verify that is the problem.
ANSWER Hello Adam. It is best to look for voltage coming to the fan motor from the unit. If the voltage is there, replace the fan motor. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
