The pump started whining tonight and I immediately suspected something in the pump. Taking off the lower spray arms it is nice and clean underneath (finish tabs with JetDry balls do a great job) but I noticed the nylon screens have come unsealed on a couple of the windows and I need to replace it. Who knows what got by the filter screen. What else should I look at replacing that could be responsible for the whine? How far to disassemble, clean and repair?
ANSWER Hello Swen. Check in the chopper assembly. If all is clear there, then you will need to replace the pump and motor assembly W10428168due to a bad bearing in the unit.
