Hi I just changed the front bellow tube on my washing machine and I put the machine back together. When I attempted to do a wash to check it the machine would make a clicking sound and the door wouldnt open. What is the problem and how can I get the door to open.
ANSWER DIY Girl, " To Manually unlock the door lock system: 1. Unplug the power cord from the outlet. 2. Remove the lower toe panel.
3. Reach up along the inside of the front panel and locate the bottom of the door latch assembly. 4. Located on the bottom of the door latch assembly is a tear-drop shaped tab. 5. Gently pull the tab down about ¼” or until a click is heard. 6. The door may now be opened." once the door is opened, you'll need to check that the bellows is properly installed and the retainer wire and spring are properly seated in place. There is also the possibility that the new bellow is causing tension on the latch assembly and not allowing the latch to operate. You may want to close the door, and leave it closed for a day or so to allow the seal to collapse or conform to the door and opening, after you recheck the installation.
