Dryer starts and works fine. Open door to check clothes, close, push start and the dryer tumbles and the gas valve clicks on but does not lite, yet gas valve stays on filling dryer and vent hose with unburned natural gas. I think replacing the igniter may help lite the gas, but what safety feature is not turning off the gas in the event it does not lite?
ANSWER Hello Mike! You would either have a short in the wiring harness or shorted ignitor 31001556. I would recommend you consider a new gas valve assembly 31001485 since the gas is not shutting off as it should. Thanks!
