Our Maytag washer leaks at the top of the tub during the spin cycle. So we thought we needed a new seal to repair the leak. But the person I talked to on the phone said it might be that the tub was filling up to high. So what should we do ? Thank you.
ANSWER James, A quick, easy check for the water level, fill the washer on the highest water level setting. When the tub is full and agitation starts, open the lid and check the empty fabric softner dispenser, it should not be "floating" if it is, the washer is overfilling and you'll need to check the air dome hose for clogs or kinks, if not, you'll need to raise the top of the washer and check the tub cover tabs and seal for loose or damaged areas. Thanks and Good Luck
