I have ice buildup at the back of the fridge. We picked it up at an estate sale a couple of years ago. Worked fine. Now I have this ice buildup problem. How can I solve it. thanks in advance.
ANSWER Hello Angie. What you are describing sounds like the common symptom of a "defrost system issue." If the frost is even across the evaporator, then you will have to find the defective part. You will want to test the heating element for continuity 1105165. The defrost thermostat 4387499 you should test while it's still in the freezer to make sure continuity is flowing, if it gets to room temperature it will open. If all these other parts test good, then more than like is the timer 482493. Hope this helps!
