Can you please provide instructions on how to replace this glass top? The local store said that I had to buy a new cooktop for $1900!
Thanks for your help!
ANSWER Mark, The tech manual is not quite correct for your cooktop, but here you go. Remove power to the cooktop, remove the vent grille and knobs. Under the cabinet, you will need to disconnect the exhaust vent from the blower plenum opening. You now need a couple of 1X2 strips of wood approximately 30 inches long(you may want to wrap the ends in towels or wrags, to reduce possible damage or scratches to the counter top. From underneath the cooktop, push it up high enough to slip the wood under the burner box bottom(you may need to do this one side at a time). Once you have the cooktop suspended over the opening, you can remove the perimeter screws just below the glass, on all four sides, then you can lift the glass panel and frame from the burner box. Reverse the procedure and you're done. Also, did you order the four vinyl tape pads for the corners 71003485, you need to, if you haven't. Thanks and Good Luck
