Freezer was frozen, fridge was warm. Replaced the control board and blown bi-metal defrost thermostat. Now the fridge and freezer are too cold, freezing vegtables and milk, but the defrost cycle works. Replaced fridge and freezer thermistors, although both tested well on multimeter. tested baffle vent and fan in diagnostic and both work. Compressor runs and shuts off normally, it seems. This part the harness, is my last resort. Could this be the trouble, or do you have any other suggestions?
ANSWER Rob, With evrything working in the test mode, pretty much tells you the harness is NOT the issue. You'll need to cheeck the thermistor resistance at the control board connections (P4 pin#1 to pin#2 FRZR therm./ and in#3 to pin#4 Refrig therm) You should have the same resistance there as the resistance on the thermistor. Recheck and make sure there is no moisture in the connectors on the control board, or loose wires or connections. We'd need to opresume you have a faulty new control board, if all checks OK.
