I have the Amana french door refrigerator with inside water spout. The water flow has been decreasing over the last 6 months or so. I originally assumed it was because I need a new filter but after the filter replacement it did not get any better. I have disconnected the water source and checked hosing the best I can but have not found any problems. The was flow is fast for about a 1/2 a second then is very slow. It take about 35 seconds to fill a 16oz bottle. I have read the most likely cause is the water head or filter installation, is this true? I have double and triple check to make sure the filter was twisted all the way on. It also seems that once I release the water button water continues to flow into the filter for 1/2 a second. If the filter is removed and water dumped out the flow is good until all the air is out of the line then it slows again. Any help you can give would be great. Thanks,
ANSWER Hello Larry,
If you have your bypass plug you can install it and check to see how the water flow is. If the water flow is good with bypass in then it is the filter that would be causing problem. If the flow is still bad then you would need a new filter head assembly. This issue does sound like the filter head assembly 67004106 causing the issue.
