Have 5 yr old fridge. 3 months ago the coil iced up and the fresh food side got warm. I unplugged for 2 days - turned back on and it was ok again. 2 days ago the coil iced up again. I was in process of cking ohm resistances when the fan and comp shut down and the heater heated up, defrosting the coil. So I am assuming that the heater, thermostat are ok. But why does the coil occasionally ice up and cause fresh side to get warm? Intermittent signal from circuit board?
ANSWER Hello Marcus. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the defrost control board 12002495 is bad and will need to be replaced. Hope this helps.
