Is there a special procedure for removing and installing the defrost heaters AP4070699 a Maytag RST-2200 refrigerator. There is a metal strip on both sides of the coils that is difficult to work around.

ANSWER Hello Mark. Yes, you can bend the strips outward to help remove the heaters 61001846. Only bend them enough to remove the heaters and be sure and bend them back after the new heaters are installed. Hope this helps.
