What's the difference between the heater thermostat and the thermostat? What are the operational symptoms if one or the other is defective? Thanks.
Douglas for Model Number LGA60AW
ANSWER Hi Douglass. The thermostat heater preheats the thermostat so it can operate itself within certain temperature perimeters. If It is out of its resistance range then the cycling thermostat will not react precisely to the on/off heating limits of the heater. They tend to get "lazy" and swing temperatures way out of range creating an overheat Issue. The preheat er is part # 61623. The thermostat is part # 503979. Thank you.
