I think my heating element isn't working correctly but am not sure exactly how to check. When I open the door mid-cycle (even using the High temp and sani-rinse), the water isn't that hot. Some steam comes out but that could be simply from the initial hot water going in. Or perhaps the heating element is only partially working. As I type this request, I think I need to start off with some cold water and see how warm it gets after 30 min??? Thanks for any insights you can provide to help diagnose the issue.

ANSWER Paul, Starting off with cold water won't work, and will mislead you. The High temp wash has a target temp. of 140 dgs.F. and the sani rinse target is 160 dgrs.F. The control has a time limit to reach those temperatures. you need to start out with a water temperature of 120- dgrs. F. in the bottom of the tub on the first fill of the cycle, in order to meet the time limit of the control board and heat the water to the proper temperature. Try that first. Thanks and Good Luck
