I have a Maytag electric dryer model MDE308DAYW that has burned the bottom black wire going to the heating element right off. I cut the wire and replaced the little clip end on it and the dryer worked for a couple of loads and now the wire is burnt off again. Do I need a new heating element? Where the wire clipped into the heating element felt kind of loose in the white plastic insulator that it runs through. Is it supposed to be? Thanks you so much! Great website you have here :-)
ANSWER Hello Don. If it is loose, yes. You will also need to replace the wire that is burnt on the unit as well.
