Black Wire going from the hi limit thermostat to the element has melted in two at the terminal. I presume this was a loose connection. I have replaced the wire with awg 12 type mtw/thwn-2/thhn. My question is...is this an acceptable replacemnt wire? I could not find adequate markings on the short piece that melted and I am unsure of the wire type. Thanks.

ANSWER Hello Jay. Yes, as long as the wire that was used is a high temp wire, it will be fine in the unit.
