I have a Maytag sav5600 which I just replaced the belt on and the helix seems like it's running backwards when I tested it. It's rising up and over the "teeth" vs. turning into them.
ANSWER Hello Whistler. The helix should turn in a certain direction based on the part of the cycle it is in. If the motor turns the same way in spin and agitate, you will need to replace the motor 27001215 in the unit. Hope this helps.
