I have a Maytag DE512 dryer. When the timer is set on more less dry setting the timer does not move. The dryer will continue to run. The temp.is slightly warm. The timer will more if set on time dry and also the clothes are dry on time dry setting. Need your help.
ANSWER Joan, you most likely have an air flow issue, You'll need to check and clean the exhaust vent pipes and vent hood(outside), also remove the lint filter and remove any excess lint that has accumulated in the housing. On the "auto cycle", if the drum temperature is not correct(155 dgrs.F) the timer will not advance. If the exhaust is restricted, kinked or clogged, the dryer gets too hot too quick, the hi limit switch opens, and there is no power to the timer motor to advance. In timed dry, the timer will run and shut off in the selected amount of time, wether it is heating properly or not.
