Is this replacement hinge threaded for a screw or is the screw a self-tapping screw? I don't want to attempt to use the existing screws only to find that I've cross-threaded the new hinge.
ANSWER Mike, The hinge screws are "self tapping" and will create threads as the screw is driven into the hinge. You may find it a lot easier, if you partially drive the screw into the hinge mounting holes (4 or 5 revolutions), remove it and install the hinge and drive the mounting screw all the way.
