When I replaced the pump, the pump was off for 2 days and I had a grease like substance drain out of the large hose. Is that part of the ball in the hose or what?

ANSWER James, No, the grease substance would not be from the check ball in the tub to pump drain hose. The substance is most likely a accumulation of softner, body oils, and chemicals, in the bottom of the tub and hose. You may want to clean the washer tubs using W10135699 Affresh Washer Cleaner, to reduce or eliminate the build up. Thanks
