Ice (not ice cubes) is forming around the ice dispenser shoot, specifically the ice cusher. This ice build up blocks the ice from coming out of the shoot.
ANSWER Hi Mitch. This because the chute flapper kit is needed. It is not closing all the way and allowing warmer air to enter a frozen air passage way (chute). As it does pass this area and the flapper is partially open this frost build up is collecting upward into the ice bin areas. Then the strike arm breaks and the flapper falls to one side. This is all controlled by the chute solenoid which is in the kit part # 12001991. Thank You.
