Is it the rod that the ice tray sits on that would be dull, does not shine and have build up on it? The tray itself looks alright.

ANSWER Hello Sunshine. No, if the ice cubes are sticking to the tray, then you will need to replace the tray 59688-1, not the rod. Hope this helps.
