my lower oven and my broiler will not ignite but the upper oven lower burner will work

Jeff for Model Number mgr6772bds

ANSWER Jeff, These "Gemini" mgas ranges work a bit weird, The upper oven(small) when broil is selected, the bake burner ignites and burns for approximately 12 minutes, like a pre heat cycle. then when the bake burner cycles off, if the oven is in a broil selection, the broil burner will cycle on and burn. You may want to select the broil selection and wait a few minutes(10 or 15) and then check to see if the broil burner ignites and attains a flame. The lower oven has a bake burner only, and is diagnosed as a "standard" gas oven, when you select a bake temp, 120 VAC is applied to the burner igniter, the igniter glows and when the proper amperage and voltage is produced, the oven safety valve opens and releases the gas and ignites. Remove the oven base panel, so you can observe the igniter, select a Bake cycle and temp., and observe the igniter to start glowing. The system should draw 3.2 to 3.6 amps, when it glows and produce 3.2 to 3.6 VAC at the wires on the safety valve from the igniter. here's some meter usage information, if you need it [http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html] And we're sending more technical information to help you out. Good Luck and Thanks
