Hi I have read the link few times but rule 1 says disconnect the power supply and rule 2 disconnect the wiring connected the any component you are testing. For my case, you suggested to test for 3.2-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. My questions are
1. I should NOT disconnect the power supply or the wires before I start BAKE function ??
2. Choose the 200 setting on my digital meter?
3. See if voltage of the display shows 3.2-3.6 volts AC or lower than that to ?
ANSWER Hello Atl0510. You will need to have the power connected and the unit set to the bake mode. You will test at the gas valve and set your meter to read 3.2 to 3.6 VAC. If the correct voltage is there, you have a bad gas valve. If the voltage is low, the igniter is bad and will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
