I smell LPG when my oven first comes on, then it's ok after it starts to burn. It has done this sense new. Service rep. says maybe the ignitor is not heating up fast enough ???? How fast should the ingnitor turn red hot ???
ANSWER Stan, The igniter should work it's way up to a "white" hot glow and ignite the gas in 60 seconds or less(average). Since we're on the subject, you may want to check the voltage and or the amperage draw when the igniter is active. It should produce at least 3.2 volts to the gas valve coil terminals or draw 3.2 amps on the wiring in 60 seconds or less. My guess would be you have a weak glow bar igniter7432P136-60 . Good Luck and Thanks
