I disassembled, cleaned and re-assembled door assembly, cleaning all four glass panels. The door was re-assembled without mechanical problems nor force.
Oven and broiler worked well afterward. However, the first time I self-cleaned oven using self-cleaning default settings (it was lightly soiled), both of the inner glass panels cracked. (Both are part number 74003645.) The panel directly exposed to the oven heat (furthest inside the oven) cracked along the top of the inside door (crack is 10" long); and the glass panel inside the door cracked slightly along the bottom of the door (crack 3" long.
Any guidance on what could cause this cracking?.
ANSWER Hello Harry. If there was any pressure on the glass when the door was re-assembled, it would cause the issue you had with the door glass. It sounds like the glass was in a bind and cracked from the heat.
