Hi! My Maytag gives off a lot of heat as it washes the dishes. It has a small insulation pad that only covers the top half and on each side- the front quarter. what pad could I use to to cover is more effectively and cut down on the heat. I also turned down the temperature on the water heater.
Sheila for Model Number maytag quiet series 100
ANSWER Hi. By design the detergents chemical reaction combined with the hot water is the best optimum to clean the dishes properly. Use Affresh dishwasher cleaner part # W10282479 monthly to keep the entire unit clean. The heat that it gives off out of the door vent is a controlled action and will get very hot. OSHA Safety regulations have approved the extensive testing the dishwasher performs at. Adding insulation part # W10223013 decreases the sound level and increases drying capabilities. Incoming water temperature has to be at least 120° to operate at manufacturers performance levels. Depress the sanitize button will not allow the heater to be energized past 145°. Sanitize can go as high as 165° depending on the model #. Thank You.
