The ice cube maker started leaking after the fan was replaced. The ice cube maker was removed and reinstalled and has progressively leaked worse. What do I need to do to access it (location?) and replace it?
ANSWER Hi Mark. Make sure the ice maker fill tube is properly placed in the ice maker fill cup. It places into the fill cup half way (50%). If it is under the ice maker or jammed in the incoming end, it will create a leak. When you pushed the unit back, did it inadvertently kink creating the water valve part # 12001414 to stay partially open and seep water continuously into the ice maker ? If the ice maker will not shut off then it needs replaced part # D7824706Q. The ice maker tells the water valve , hey I need 6-7 seconds of water from the valve. Pre-set the volt meter on the water valve terminals tight. Advance the ice maker for a forced fill. Are you getting 120 vac to the water valve ? Is it staying on too long ? I would use the digital capacitor Tester / Volt/ohm meter part # TJMA-DM1 . Thank You.
