The coupler totally ripped apart on my blender. I easily removed the black coupler, but there are no threads on the remaining metal stem to screw the new coupler on to. If I am to pry up that metal piece that is left behind (after the black plastic is removed), it
seems like I'll be ruining it? But the metal stem there has NO threads at all. Is this part of the old coupler mechanism and needs to be removed too?
The coupler should not just lift off of the shaft. If the coupler just lifted off you will need to try to get the metal piece unscrewed. This would be the only way to do it without ruining the motor shaft.
