how do you get oven door open after cleaning if door latch has failed
Paul for Model Number sve47600b
ANSWER Paul, you will need to get a wire coat hanger, straighten it out and put a 2 to 3 inch "hook" in one end,so it looks like a check mark. Insert the hanger between the door and the front flage at the top of the door from the top or left side of the door, slide it from left to right, until the hook slips over the latch pawl, then slide it back from right to left, once you feel the strain on the hanger, press in on the door handle slightly and tug another 1/4 inch and pull the door open. Of course, youll need to unplug the power cord or remove power to the range, remove the control panel,(four screws on the bottom of the control panel, and swivel the panel out at the bottom to release it from the cooktop.) to access and replace the door latch assembly71001845 and check the wiring. Thanks and Good Luck
