The oven was on for 45 min at 350, when it started to be beep and display the F9 code. I unplugged it and let it sit for a couple hours. When I plugged it in, it did the same thing. How can I confirm that the door latch assembly needs to be replaced? Or is it something else?
ANSWER Hello Steve,
You would want to check the wiring to the door latch and check the door latch itself. If the latch and wiring look good then you would need to replace the control 5701M518-60. On the latch unlock switch should have continuity through it if it is closed. If there is not continuity and the door latch is unlocked then you will need to replace latch assembly 74005575. This will be the switch with black and tan wires. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
