I have a problem with my Whirlpool washer not advancing once it fills. I diagnosed the problem to be the lid switch assembly. I watched the video provided for part number AP094500 (mfg 285671) but it doesn't match my model washer. I think (for my model) the lid switch is located under the top of the washer to the left and is engaged by a lever connected to the lid where it attaches to the machine. I was wondering if anyone else has this model and can you tell me how to access the lid switch to replace it? Will I need to remove the outer frame to gain access? Thanks for your help.

ANSWER Jill, To remove the lid switch on your unit you will need to lift the control panel and remove the cabinet to access the lid switch. The lid will need to be open when changing the switch.
