I have whirlpool washer, the timer will not advance, it stays on wash or spin till you shut it off. Could it be the timer or lid switch?
How do I check either or both?
ANSWER Hello James. You will test for power to the timer motor. If there is power there, and the timer does not advance, you will replace the timer in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
