My Whirlpool Ultimate Care II will fill and agitate but won't drain or spin unless I have something pressing down on the piece that indicates the lid is closed. My previous lid was a bit warped and if we put something heavy on top of it, it would work. However, that won't work anymore. If I use a screwdriver to hit that part, it will work. I ordered and replaced the lid and the lid strike and it still doesn't work. What do I do next?
ANSWER Hello. Based on the information you provided, the lid switch 3949247 is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. It sounds like it is broke and the reason, it is not contacting.
