I am considering replacing the lid on my washer is this difficult to do because I am not sure how I remove it?
ANSWER Manny, the hardest part of the repair, is keeping track of the lid hinge balls211726, there are two(2), one on each side. Here's the procedure : Raise the lid so it is at a 45 degree angle with the top cover. With the left hand, grasp the left sideof the lid toward the back. With the right hand grasp the right side of the lid at the right front corner.Taking care to watch where the hingeballs go, pull towards you with the right hand. To replace the lid : Place a hinge ball in the recess of the left side of the top cover. Holding it in position, place the lid over the ball so the ball is in the recesson the left side of the lid.Hold the lid with the left hand keeping sufficient pressure against the left side to ensure the hinge ball will remain wedged between the lid and the top cover. With the right hand, place a hinge ball in the right side of the top cover recess. Push the lid down against the hinge ball on the right side and with the right thumb press down sharply to engage the lid with the hinge ball on the right side. NOTE if the fit between the right hinge ball and lid is so tight you cannot press it into position with the right thumb, carefully strike the right corner of the lid with the palm of the hand to snap it into position." Good Luck and Thanks
