The refrigerator side light went out. I replaced the bulb but still doesn't work. The light on the freezer side as well as the light on the dispenser all work. I tested the bulb to ensure that it is good. How can I tell if the problem is the door switch or the light unit? How should I proceed? Thanks!
ANSWER Hello Todd. If you remove the light switch from the unit, you can test it for continuity. With the switch pressed, it should read closed and with the switch open, it should read open. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
