My dryer squealed a couple of times not for long maybe a minute or two then it stopped. Today the drum stopped turning, took it apart and the belt is fine. Do I need a new motor? If I do is there anything else I have to buy with it?
If you disconnect the belt from the motor and turn the unit on, see if the motor runs. If the motor does not run then most likely you would need a new motor but if the motor does run then it may be bad rollers on the unit that have seized up and not allow the drum to turn.
