I purchased my whirlpool microwave late march this year. Early june it quit working. Whirlpool sent me a new circuit board and a new magnetron, which I installed myself. Six weeks later it went out again. This time I orded only the magnetron, everything else seemed to be working as it should, except not heating up.Same as the first time it went out. I installed the new magnetron friday, used microwave two times for about a minute each time. Third time,it made a load noise. I quickly shut it off and turned it back on and it seemed to work fine. The next day ,after the third use, it made the same load noise. I thought I better take it apart to see what the problem was. I found, that the end of the magnetron had turn blue and melted a hole as if you took a tourch to it! I have another magnetron on the way. Am I waisting my time with this microwave? Is there a history of this model or this magnetron, part no. 8206079 ? Is their something else causing this? I am getting very disgusted!!! Please help me.
ANSWER Hello Jeff. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the inverter board W10217711 is bad and will need to be replaced. Hope this helps.
