I have this downdraft cook top. I need to replace the glass top as it is broken. I have already received the glass top, however, I am not clear how to pull the whole box up from the counter top. I searched on the net and understood that it has to be disconnected from the vent first. Is that it? My question is that is there any sealent used between glass top and the countertop? They were also talking about some vinyl tape. I did not order one. I am not sure where that would go. Do I need to order that also? Once the box is pulled up, rest of the work is very straight forward. I can see from the new glass top which screws need to be removed from the box and the vent opening. I would appreciate a quick response. Thanks.
ANSWER Dinesh, you'll need to remove the control knobs and lift the cooktop from the cabinet installation. Remove the hex head screws that secure the glass frame to the burner box, once those are removed you can remove the glass from the burner box. Reverse the procedure to install. Hope this helps, thanks.
