To replace the membrane, do you have to take the microwave out of the case, or does the front just pop off?
ANSWER Hello Floyd,
The first and most important step is to unplug the unit or turn the breaker off to it. Remember that the high voltage capacitor can hold enough charge to kill you, so before touching anything inside, short the terminals to ground using a screwdriver shaft.
The vent grill across the top of the unit will come off if you remove two screws out of the top. Then you can access the one screw at the top of the units' control panel to access the3 inside of the control compartment. Once you remove the one screw, lift on the control panel and it will come off.
