When I came home, my wife said the washer had a hum. It had a half load of clothes in it. The motor is hot and is rough to turn by hand. Do you think it is the motor? The water pump turns good.

I would remove the belt from the motor and try it. This will completely isolate the motor as the issue. The problem can be the brake pads or the spin bearings.
