We got the fan and it fixed the problem. Now the ice makers keeps freezing up and no ice. We have taken the tray out and unfroze it, it works 3 or 4 days ans freezes up again?
ANSWER Hi Linda. Inside the ice maker on the back lt. side of the front controls, there is a thermostat that has to close at approx. 14° as it senses the ice has frozen in the ice maker tray. When it does then it allows for approx. 6-seconds of heater application just enough to get the I/M motor to turn and eject the cubes normally. Then it will rotate the ejector blades . Then it calls for approx. 6-7 seconds of timed water fill. Over and over. Now consider all the usage of water / ice frozen with contaminants such as calcium it , builds up and after time it stops the process of ejection even with heat. So with all this being said, you can buy individual parts or consider the whole ice maker part # D7824706Q since it has lasted this long under constant usage. Thank You.
